RECTORS OF MAULDEN

NOTE: The Christian Church dates from the Day of Pentecost, ten days after the Ascension into Heaven of its founder, our Lord Jesus Christ. The Conversion of the English commenced in AD597. Most of our ancient English Parishes had been formed before AD900. Probably, therefore, Maulden has had its Priest and Parish Church for more than a thousand years. The names of its earliest Rectors are not now known. The Register of Institutions to Benefices at Lincoln supplies most of the names in the following list, the Archdeaconry of Bedford having for centuries formed part of the See.
