The
Rector Writes

Dear Friends,
I am sure that you will
agree that you are all so talented. Why am I suddenly saying this? Well, firstly
because of the wonder weekend we have just had as a church family. The ‘Made
in Maulden’ weekend brought together a huge range of items produced by some
very talented people. We had everything from lace making to vintage motorbikes,
wood turning to dress making and much, much more. If you missed it then you
really missed a great exhibition. I saw two ladies arrive at 10:30am and leave
after having lunch at 2:30pm. They had a wonderful day. Keep your eyes open for
more exhibitions next year.
Of course, the talent and
skills was not restricted to the exhibits; they were also on show in the
wonderful refreshments provided and in the produce for sale. Other people used
their talents and time as stewards and helpers in the kitchen. Thank you to you
all for giving so freely of your time and talents.
The church believes that we
all have talents and they are given to us by God. The Bible, as well as talking
of talents, also uses the term "gifts from God". Just like any gifts,
the best way to say thank you for receiving them is to care for them and use
them. It is amazing how many people have wonderful gifts and talents which they
never use.
This month, take some time
to consider what gifts God has given to you and take time to say thank you for
them in prayer and by using them for your own pleasure, to help others and in
God's service.
