The Friends of St. Mary’s Maulden is a village charitable trust, established in 1985 to enable the whole population of Maulden and other friends outside the village to contribute towards the upkeep of the Church building and so help preserve our heritage for future generations. The Trustees of the trust comprise of a representative group of the village community.
The prime objective of the Trust is to raise money, through donations, events and a Share Club, to help the Parochial Church Council with the upkeep and maintenance of the Church building. The day-to-day running costs of the church are met by the regular giving of the worshipping community.
During the past 35 years, the Friends have contributed over £65,000 to assist with Church maintenance and repair, and in addition have built up a substantial capital reserve fund to generate future income. A balance sheet is drawn up annually and an annual meeting held to update Friends about achievements, needs and problems.
Areas where the Trust has provided support include Tower repairs, lightening conductor renewal, porch refurbishment, replacement and re-pointing of external masonry, roof window and floor tile repairs. Over the past 15 years the Trust has met all annual fabric inspections and routine maintenance costs.

The Trustees would be delighted if you would accept our invitation to support the Friends and help preserve our heritage. The Chairman of the Trustees and the Share Club Organiser would be very happy to provide more information about the Trust and becoming a member of the Share Club.
